Web search, research and chatter

Thanks to some work by the researchers, there is a page of google labs publications. Noticed some chatter on research in web search (companies):

• tracking. This has a "hockey-stick" plot: some quantity trends up like the hockey stick to the left or in unfortunate cases, trends down like its mirror image.
