Travel to
Providence, Rhode Island, by Amtrak was scenic, and the travel back appropriately late and irksome. The town was a bit of discovery, a place caught in a pleasant moment of the fall's light and clarity. There were lifesigns via posters, bar signs, the temple-esque conf hotel, and the saturday
waterfires that, alas, I missed. Clocks were serenely stuck. Grateful thanks to Anna, Claire, Phil and others, who with prodding and personal investment of family and time, hosted the FOCS conference.
