At the Brooklyn Museum, the first saturday of each month has free art and entertainment from 5--11 PM. I was there yesterday, dressed to dance (DJ spinning 80's music in the great hall with kids, youth, and the old, families, singles and friends, dancing incoherently) and walking amongst African and Egyptian art late night. The Museum has a terrific American Art collection on show. Talking of american art, my favorite museum is the emerging treat: Ogden Museum of Southern Art, set up in New Orleans to showcase the (neglected) art from the south of this country.
